Solar Installer

Becoming a Dealer with Lakeshore Power Systems

Due to the high level of interest and growth in the Ontario solar sector, there is a lot of interest in the Ontario solar industry. However, we do not accept everyone that applies to us as dealers. Your approval will be based on:

  • Your level of knowledge and experience with solar electrical systems. Strong preference will be given to those who have prior education in the design and installation of solar energy systems provided by Lambton College, Seneca College, or manufacturer training.
  • Your ability to pull permits is not essential for the sale of solar, but is essential for the installation. If you are not a licenced electrical contractor, then we will ask you to provide information about your method of installation support.
  • Proper business status for operation in Canada. Your master business licence or GST/HST registration number will be required.

Preference will be given to the following applcants:

  • Established, qualified dealers who are already in the solar industry.
  • Established electrical contractors seeking entrance to the solar industry.
  • Applicants who have completed the Ontario Solar Academy training.

Why all the fuss?

Marketing, selling, designing, installing and servicing a solar electrical system is not simple, or easy. Grid tie solar systems utilize high DC voltages at dangerous current levels. Battery based solar systems have storage batteries with immense electrical short circuit current capacity. These products are not toys, and need to be respected, and the installation often involves working in difficult and sometimes dangerous surroundings (rooftops, towers, islands, etc...). The electrical code requirements for safe installation must always be followed.

Please read our terms and conditions for information on our product sale terms.
